Parenting Support

Parenting Ideas The school has subscribed to this Michael Grosse website which contains many helpful tips to help parents. It has fact sheets on dealing with sibling rivalry, discipline, pocket money, building your child's confidence, bedtime routines and many more ideas and tips.

School Holiday Crafts and Activities

Links Galore

This page on the Kids Net site has links to more than 40 sites, offering a huge variety of art and craft ideas, recipes, colouring pages, puzzles, and ideas for making gadgets and gizmos.  You'll never run out of things to do and sites to visit.

National Geographic

National Geographic's offering of kids activities includes a long list of crafts, recipes, science activities, sports and games.  Some of the activities are linked by theme, so you can proceed from making a Monster Head to making Slime Punch and then Muddy Worms.

Loads to Do

Recipes for making an erupting volcano, jelly bean carrots, a magic potion and silly slime among other things.  There are links to birthday cake ideas, craft ideas for holiday celebrations such as Easter, and a link to another site with a further 221 craft ideas.

Puppet Fun

Make the puppets, make the theatre and write the script.  Everything you need to put on your own puppet show.

For Younger Kids

A great list of craft ideas for the younger children in the family.  The crafts use materials from around the house, such as egg cartons, paper, string and crayons and there are bright, attractive illustrations that the sure to fire up the imagination.

Healthy Family

Kids Health

Kids Health is a fun, informative site for kids.  The site contains articles, fun features, games and interactive activities that teach kids about the importance of healthy living.  Some of the categories include dealing with feelings, staying healthy, recipes, everyday illness and injuries, my body, growing up, kid's talk and kid's health problems.

Kellogg's Kids Health and Fitness

Kellogg's Kids Health and Fitness outlines simple ways for kids to eat right, play well and stay healthy.  There are five guidelines to teach kids how to incorporate nutrition and physical activity into their lifestyles.  You will also find some fun activities to help kids understand the importance of health and fitness.

Seniors Health

Seniors.gov.au is the Australian government site for seniors.  The site contains information on health issues of interest to seniors - health risk management, preventative care, condition treatment, medical and medication help and improvements in health.  There is also information about work, care, senior's rights, finances, lifestyle and special needs.

Diabetes and the young

A lively site for young adults with diabetes.  The site provides a forum for young people to contact each other, publish their stories, discuss their highs and lows and ask questions.  There's a Gig Guide, a Laugh Section and you can sign up to receive news, freebies and notice of events

This site contains plenty of advice to help you keep fit and healthy.  Includes health and fitness archives, a multimedia library, the latest health and fitness news, essential health tips, daily exercise suggestions, motivational quotes, a free fitness log and more.

Features useful information about all things health and fitness.  You will find articles, all the latest research news, diet reviews, a question and answer discussion board, calculators, a fitness diary as well as online directory.

Fitness Zone

Feel as though you never have time to exercise?  Fitness zone shows you how to include exercise in everyday activities.  You can take the stairs rather than the lift, park your car further away from your destination or walk or do exercises while waiting in line at the bank.

Gardening Australia (on ABC TV) official site features information about the presenters, fact sheets, plant profiles, tips, upcoming events, a forum, competitions, weekly tips and information about the upcoming weekly show.

The Garden Gurus (Western Australia)

Gardening in the arid conditions.  This web site features information on the popular TV program Gardening WA, the newspaper The Garden Guru, garden advisory, design and landscape services and so much more.

National Gardening (USA)

Gardeners throughout the world will find the National Gardening Web site extremely useful.  Featuring a collection of gardening articles, a gardening dictionary, how-to projects, recipes, events, seed swap, e-cards, wallpapers, newsletters, a special kids site, polls, tips and so much more, this site has something for everyone.

Smart Mouth

Smart Mouth teaches kids about the importance of healthy eating.  Find out why eating too much fast food isn't good for you, learn how to make nutritious meals and snacks, read some interesting facts about food or test how much you know about health and nutrition with some fun brain teasers.

Kidchef

Kidchef shows kids how to cook and prepare yummy meals.  The site includes cooking basics for beginners, a glossary of common terms used in the kitchen, some great recipes and fun stuff such as polls, games, contests, a quiz and more.

Kids' Health Recipes

Plenty of fun, healthy recipes for kids to cook on their own or with a little help from their parents.  There are even recipes for children with special dietary needs - ie children with cystic fibrosis, diabetes, vegetarians, lactose intolerance and celiac disease.

B5's Healthy Snacks After cooking some healthy snacks in the classroom B5 researched healthy recipes on the internet and typed up their favourite recipes to make a web based cook boo full of healthy snacks and drinks.
